These coin cufflinks are constructed with actual, "out-of-circulation" coins. The Buffalo nickel was in circulation from 1913 through 1938 and was designed by James Fraser. The Indian head side of the coin is a composite of 3 separate Indian Chiefs. The buffalo on the flip side is a depiction of Black Diamond, a famous buffalo residing New York's Central Park zoo at the time.
